Drink more water they say!

Drink more water. Drink more water. Drink more water. This is something that you hear all of the time.  Whether it is for weight loss, to clear your skin, to grow healthy hair, to make your curls pop, because we need it to survive lol, etc the list can go on with the saying “drink more water.”

To be honest I didn’t believe all of the benefits of water at first, until I became in love with water.  I started off giving up pop right after high school, and replaced the pop I was drinking with water.  Once I gave up pop, I noticed my face became clearer, and I felt more energized.  This is when my love for water really started to come alive, I drink water about 98% of the time in any day. I have my gallon of water and my glass water bottle right by my side all day!  It is good to drink 8 glasses of water per day, but if you want to be an overachiever, why not shoot for a gallon!  

My favorite water bottle is the Contigo Purity Glass Water Bottle, 20 oz. I have the teal one, I carry it around everywhere!  It has a nice handle, it is glass, and most importantly it is pretty!  If there is any advice I can give you, try to use a glass water bottle to help keep filtered water fresh, with the less likelihood of chemicals contaminating the water like plastic water bottles.

I decided I wanted to write this blog to provide some insight on the benefits of water and some tips to drink water throughout the day.  We will first start off with the benefits: 

  1. Water removes harmful toxins from the body by flushing the toxins and waste
  2. Helps with fatigue and energy, lack of water is the #1 trigger for daytime fatigue
  3. Helps with dehydration, dehydration can slow you down and make it hard to focus
  4. It is calorie-free!!
  5. Improves your mood
  6. Healthy skin
  7. Good for the hair! Helps seal in moisture! (All the naturals know what I am talking about!)

Tips:

  1. Drink 1-2 cups of water when you wake up and before you eat breakfast
  2. Schedule regular water breaks throughout the day
    1. Put reminders in your calendar on your phone
    2. Put reminders in your calendar at work to remind you
  3. Keep a water tracker whether it is manually on a piece of paper or through an app on your phone
  4. Keep water on you at all time, never be empty handed!
    1. I carry glass water bottle and my gallon of water everywhere I go to make sure I am reminded to drink water!
  5. Spice it up with fruit! Plenty of recipes on the Pinterest!

These are just a few benefits and tips about water!  It will change your life J
