Protect your Peace

Protect your peace.

I often think to myself am I protecting the inner me enough, am I protecting that peace that I need in my life, am I guarding my state of mind?

And to be quite honest, no I haven’t been protecting it ENOUGH.

I started to realize that it is so easy to let distractions, worry, noise, and people mess up your peace, and that it is hard to let some things go that may be disturbing your peace because you are not ready to let those things go.

It is important to guard your state of mind, to guard your peace.  Why? Because that is one of the things that you have control over.  When you start having that control, you start gaining power of letting things go, you start experiencing more calmness in your life, and freedom from disturbance.

Protect your peace.

Our minds are a powerful tool, the thoughts that we have in our minds can control us everyday.  It took me a while to realize that we have the power to change our minds, that we have the power to have control, that we have the power to create the peace in our lives, but why is that so hard?

I want to provide you a few tools that I have used to create peace in my life and to protect that peace:

  1. Create you a safe space: Find a place to meditate.  It can be a room in your house, your car, your favorite park, just find a place where you can reflect and take some time for you.  One of my favorite things to do is putting aromatherapy oils in my Oil Diffuser to set the tone and mood for my safe space. There are many different combinations you can do with the oils to create a space of peace, calmness, help with sleep, etc.
  2. Write down what triggers you to not have peace.  This helps you pinpoint the situations or people that create chaos, drama, or disturbance in your life.  Be protective of the things that you let inside of you.
  3. Create the intention:  Make it intentional to have peace in your life. Every morning write down, “Today I will have peace in my life,”  and then monitor your day. If something is the opposite of what your intention is, then it needs to be removed.

I believe it is important to live a peaceful, empowered, and purpose-filled life.  I want to leave you with one of my favorite prayers for peace:

God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change;

Courage to change the things I can;

and Wisdom to know the difference.
